RouteMax

Innovation that’s Changing the Industry
International Truck and Engine Corporation has teamed with Johnson Refrigerated Truck Bodies, the largest dedicated refrigeration manufacturer in the U.S., to offer RouteMax™ as a factory-installed option on select International® DuraStar™ and WorkStar™ models. The addition of International’s PowerPack 3 mobile electric power source to the Johnson Truck Body cold plate system creates an improved and environmentally-friendly solution far superior to traditional mechanical refrigeration systems. RouteMax delivers initial cost savings, lower operating costs, substantially longer life and enhanced holdover protection for your perishable load.
High Reliability
RouteMax delivers cold confidence to your fleet with a 15-year system life. Plus, because the self-generating PowerPack 3 requires fewer plates to maintain pre-set temperatures, RouteMax weighs less than traditional hold-over plate systems. And thanks to faster temperature recovery, you can extend route deliveries by up to 20 hours.

Superior Product Protection
Keeping your trucks on the road and protecting the freshness of your product supply is as important to us as it is to you. An active forced-air refrigeration source, combined with cold plates that work throughout the day, provides additional safety and sustained freshness. And in case of breakdown, products are protected for up to two days.
Exclusive Power Source
RouteMax is powered by electricity. International Corp’s exclusive PowerPack 3, a high-efficiency AC power system, runs the condenser unit while the truck is idle or en route. And then, electric shore power at dock-side recharges the cold plates during overnight plug-in. Plus, PowerPack 3 seamlessly integrates into International’s Diamond Logic electrical system, for convenient diagnostic and operator control right from the driver’s seat.
Environmental Compatibility
The AC power-generated RouteMax helps you “go green” by significantly reducing diesel fuel consumption, cutting down harmful CO2 emissions, and eliminating the noise of a typical mechanical blower unit.
Lower Maintenance Costs
The RouteMax cooling system has a low susceptibility to breakdown because it has very few moving parts. By contrast, a mechanical blower unit can cost, on average, 11 times more per unit per year to maintain.

Electric versus Diesel
Operating RouteMax with PowerPack 3 and electric power provides significant savings in refrigeration operating costs compared to diesel-powered mechanical units. In fact, the electric power required for RouteMax costs 7 times less than diesel fuel. Check out these other bottom line benefits:
RouteMax delivers fleet managers an easy solution to help combat rising fuel prices and minimize maintenance costs, and is yet another example of how International takes existing technology and finds a way to make it better.
