Alex Byerly, Decatur, IN  | Selking International Trucks

Alex Byerly SAE June

Service Advisor

Alex comes to work each day with a positive attitude and consistently works on improving himself, as well as others at Selking International. He is hardworking, a great team player, and provides quality work every day. He oversees all warranty claims and keeps customers up to speed on what needs to take place when handling these claims.

Alex handles every customer call professionally. He takes detailed notes and ensures all information is retained. When a customer calls in about a check engine light, Alex takes it upon himself to have the customer come in so we can pull a health report and let the customer know on the spot what the problem is. Alex goes above and beyond and to make sure a customer is taken care of, including hours of research getting parts on his own time if the customer needs the truck back immediately.

Alex has completed all required training and is up to date on how to handle different scenarios. When I am unable to be at the shop, I have full trust that Alex will take the reins and handle all issues with the same care I would, ALWAYS putting the customer first.

Alex works consistently on improving on general work attitudes in the shop. Each morning, he greets each technician and asks how they are doing. He genuinely cares about each of the technicians and strives for everyone to be happy at work in a family atmosphere.  When technicians ask for help, he is always willing to go out and give a hand even though it is not part of his job. He enjoys helping and will do anything in his power to keep the technicians busy, and the customers’ trucks moving.

Alex is the most positive person you could ever meet. He has a strong passion for excellence and is always wanting to grow and be better.

VETERANS

Ryan Horner, Norfolk, VA | Norfolk Truck Center

Ryan Horner SAE June

Senior Service Advisor

Ryan came to us as an automotive technician in 2019 with no customer service background. Since then, Ryan has excelled in his position become a welcome staple of the Norfolk Truck Center Service Department. He is extremely hardworking and knowledgeable and is very passionate about helping both our employees and our customers.

Ryan has gone above and beyond for our customers and has even driven them after-hours, in his vehicle, to hotels in the area to make sure they reach overnight accommodations safely. He has developed a deep relationship with our local food bank and has assisted with company-wide Food Drive Donations for the food bank. This has strengthened the bond between our businesses, and now the good bank brings all their vehicles to us for repairs.

Ryan earned the role of Senior Service Advisor by accepting the responsibility of supervising and training all new advisors who come to our Service counter. He oversees all customer interactions with the new advisors, ensuring that the customers receive honest and transparent updates on their vehicle's repair status. In the event of an antagonistic customer interaction, Ryan will interject and de-escalate the situation to better assist and help the customer.

Ryan’s military background (Veteran USMC) has instilled in him a strong desire to work in a team unit. He thrives working with others and will tirelessly make sure that all members of the Service Team feel included and valued. He is usually one of the first employees here and one of the last to leave if needed. He has transcended the responsibilities of his role, ensuring the goals and mission of the company come first.

One of Ryan's many hobbies includes building with Legos, and he has made many creations including a layout of our Norfolk Dealership with Lego people for employees, including tow trucks that he has emblazed with some of our customers’ logos. These creations are on display at our dealer and they bring joy to everyone who sees them.
